Mobile’s Singing Children’s Concert Choir will be among 188 musicians that will present Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana on March 30-31. This scenic cantata was composed in 1935. It is based on a collection of poems found in a Bavarian monastery. The 24 poems are believed to date back to the 12th and 13th centuries. The songs Orff composed celebrate both the triumphs and tragedies of human life.
Carmina Burana is one of the best known and beloved pieces of the classical music repertoire. Tickets can be purchased by going to the Mobile Symphony Orchestra website, https://mobilesymphony.org/
